What To Wear When You’re Everywhere

You: An individual, a daydreamer, a Type A planner, PTA mom, wife, partner, reluctant picker-upper of toys, momtrepreneur, an artist, a poet, the big boss-woman, poised for that well-deserved promotion . . .
What do you secretly call yourself?  You know we all live up to SOME title or another.

You are, at any given moment: working, shopping, cooking, researching for your dissertation, cleaning, picking up the kids, renovating your house, off to the dry cleaner, meeting your editor, out to tea, operating the jackhammer as you redo your driveway . . .

You are wearing: the Doe Doe Romper.

So, busy lady, let’s talk rompers. Rompers have had a resurgence in the non-preggo fashion world recently. Your favorite childhood outfit: revived and revamped for womanhood. And no wonder, rompers are comfortable, versatile (so so easily dressed up or down—pair with heels or wellies!), and suggest a kind of free-spirited easiness that we all crave in our hectic lives. But let’s say you didn’t jump on the romper bandwagon before you had your bun in the oven. Well, now is the perfect time to get on it!

*Put those feet up! When I was pregnant, I put my feet up for one hour every night, making sure that they were at a level above my head while lying down. I even soaked my tootsies in cold water (I gave birth at the end of July in SoCal . . . it gets a little toasty over here). My feet never got swollen throughout my pregnancy, and I credit this good fortune to all the ways I took care of myself during that time. Seriously, you can run yourself ragged for the rest of your life—now is the time to just slooow dooown.

    Great article, My husband calls me super mom-to-be. He said he doesn’t understand how it must feel to give my body up for 9 months (and my chai latte’s) and still find time to work, cook, and even do pilates! I just call myself mom :)

  2. Congratulations Julia on your new baby-to-come!  Thank you for blogging with us. 
    My BIG indulgence that I gave up during my pregnancy was SUSHI, and sushi and more sushi!  I LOVE the stuff…. But hey, we get to eventually come back to them in 10 months or so (sushi, caffeine and even a little bubbly, OK…. in moderation, I nursed my little one for about a year)
    Here was one of my fav DYI, I made mocktails!  So fun, and you can get really creative.  I substituted for organic juices and flavorings, there are so many options out there.

  4. This is how Superman used to be.  A very interesting article who use to illustrate what we do often not minding how conspicuous it is.  One more, I am impress on that pregnant women there. She looks fantastic!
